Functional Classifications of PAH
This classification scale was created by the New York Heart Association (NYHA) to
measure the degree of disease severity in patients with heart disease. Healthcare providers often
use this same scale to help determine the severity of PAH and the type of treatment
for their patients.
NYHA Functional Classification1
Higher functional class=more severe symptoms of PAH
No symptoms with ordinary physical activity.

Symptoms with ordinary activity.
Slight limitation of activity.

Symptoms with less than ordinary activity.
Marked limitation of activity.
|
Symptoms with any activity or even at rest.
|
ADCIRCA is indicated for Classes II and III.
